Le gouvernement du Québec vient d'autoriser l'établissement du projet d'usine d'engrais d'IFFCO à Bécancour. Publié mercredi dans la Gazette officielle du Québec, le décret a été adopté le 26 mars par le Conseil des ministres, sous la recommandation du ministre du Développement durable, de l'Environnement, de la Faune et des Parcs.

En janvier 2014, IFFCO Canada a répondu aux appels d'offres de TransCanada PipeLines en vue de garantir son approvisionnement en gaz naturel. Rappelons que le gaz naturel est la matière première principale du procédé de fabrication d'urée de la future usine IFFCO Canada. L'abondance de cette ressource et son prix concurrentiel ont été des facteurs déterminants dans la décision de l'entreprise de s'implanter au Québec.

Shale gas will feed fertilizer plant project in Bécancour
The Quebec government just gave a green light to the implantation of IFFCO's fertilizer plant project in Bécancour. Published in the Official Gazette of Quebec Wednesday, the decree was voted in March 26 by the Coucil of Ministers with a favorable recommendation coming from the Environment Minister.

Back in January 2014, IFFCO Canada had presented its offer to TransCanada PipeLines invitation to tenders in order to guarantee its natural gas supply. Natural gas in the basic raw material in the process of manufacturing urea in the planned IFFCO Canada plant. The abundance of this resource and competitive cost were deciding factors in the decision making of this company to build in Quebec.
