"To Ernst's horror, a detailed illustration accompanying the study (engineering study by Hydrogeological Consultants Ltd, Edmonton) clearly showed that Encana had punctured and then fracked into the aquifers supplying drinking water to Kenny's home and other wells in the Rosebud Valley. Ernst's own water well was only 3.3 kilometers (two miles) from the troubled well and in the direction of groundwater flow into the valley. She would later calculate, using the HCL report and records in the Alberta Groundwater Centre Database, that Encana had fracked 18 million liters of frack fluid over six zones directly into the aquifers."
