Bonne fête de la Saint-Patrick!

De prime abord, le choix d'un colibri pour illlustrer la fête des Irlandais semble un peu incongru. Mais quiconque connaît un Irlandais et a déjà vu un oiseau-mouche défendre des fleurs qu'il considère sa propriété comprendra sûrement. Pensez aussi au kilomètres parcourus par ce petit oiseau durant ses migrations et aux Irlandais qui se sont sauvés de la pauvreté, de l'harcèlement et de la famine durant les derniers siècles. Et bien sûr, la couleur adoptée par les Irlandais, le vert, et le colibri, si difficile à voir dans un jardin!Notre chat Paddy our cat
You could wonder about my choice to illustrate Paddy's Day. But anybody who knows an Irishman and has ever seen a hummingbird chasing away the others from flowers he considers his will understand! Also think about the many miles this little bird flies during its migration, and the Irish that were forced out of their country because of poverty, dispossession and famine. And of course the color green, traditionally Irish, and the very green hummingbird, so hard to see in the garden!
