Friends of the Richelieu. A river. A passion.

"All this region is very level and full of forests, vines and butternut trees. No Christian has ever visited this land and we had all the misery of the world trying to paddle the river upstream."

About this time 2 years ago, my old, half blind and deaf 19 year old cat was living its last days. My spouse of 28 years was eating less and less every day, drinking more and more, and it was harder and harder for him every day to walk and use his hands and feet, but still, he did not want to see a doctor. The inside of my home for 34 years was an total run-down unfinished mess.

But still, I held on for dear life thanks to the beauty of my garden:

You would never guess the turmoil in my life by reading those lines I wrote 2 years ago. Thanks to Mother Nature, I found the strength to appreciate life and find the courage to forge on, no matter what.
