That's fine, until you become too much of a burden for the people you care about, the people who care about you.
Then you start to push them away, and guess what? At some point, they stay away.
You always said this was your choice, the way you wanted to live your life. And I respected that. And now is the time to reap what you sowed.
Long time friends told me that he became a very heavy drinker of pure alcohol after his divorce, and turned to beer when he realized he was risking his job and his life. They say that he knew very well the dangers of heavy drinking, including neurological damage. Which would suggest that what he did to himself in 2013 was deliberate. That would confirm the impression I got. And it would explain the hands off reaction of his siblings. Alcoholism has long been a problem for him, even if he won't admit it to us openly.
ReplyDeleteJe regarde le calendrier: enterrement des cendres de son père en octobre 2012, et il cesse de se nourrir convenablement en 2013, mais boit plus que jamais. Je commence à croire à une tentative de suicide ratée. L’alcoolisme, une maudite maladie.
