Malgré qu'il y a beaucoup de problèmes évidents et bien documentés de la fracturation, et qu'il y a eu des demandes internationales venant des académiciens et des communautés partout aux États-Unis, en Australie et en Europe pour que la fracturation soit interdite, le gouvernement de l'Irlande a laissé l'industrie continuer son travail à obtenir des permis de forage. Tamboran Resources (l'une de 3 compagnies qui ont des permis en Irlande) travaille en ce moment à une stratégie de diviser pour mieux régner à l'intérieur des communautés: la compagnie tient des réunions secrètes dans cette région et offre des enveloppes brunes aux hommes d'affaires. Les permis accordés aux 3 compagnies leur donne accès à de vastes régions rurales de l'Irlande dans 12 comtés. C'est aussi un problème qui ne connaît pas de frontières: Fermanagh est aussi menacée par cette industrie. Le gouvernement de l'Irlande a dit qu'il attend que l'EPA de l'Irlande termine une étude complète avant de donner le feu vert à l'industrie, et nous croyons que le gouvernement va le donner à moins que les gens s'y opposent fortement. Déjà, 5 conseils de comtés ont demandé au gouvernement d'interdire la fracturation. S'il-vous-plaît, signer la pétition pour que la fracturation soit interdite en Irlande.

This video was filmed by Gearoid Lynch who is involved in the grassroots campaign group No Fracking Ireland. The video was shot in North Leitrim, in the home place of the 1916 Rising leader Sean Mac Diarmada. Despite the fact that there are numerous obvious/documented problems with fracking and international calls from academics and communities across the U.S, Australia and Europe for fracking to be banned, the Irish government are allowing the industry to continue to work here towards getting their full license to drill. Tamboran Resources (one of three companies with license in Ireland) are now engaging in a divide and conquer stratedy within communities, they are having secret meetings in this region and offering money to local business people. The licenses handed out to the three companies cover vast areas of rural Ireland in 12 counties. This is also a major cross-border issue, Fermanagh is also under threat from this industry. The Irish government have said they are waiting for the Irish EPA to do a comprehensive study before it gives the industry full license to proceed, we believe the government will do this unless we the people strongly oppose this.
