Friends of the Richelieu. A river. A passion.

"All this region is very level and full of forests, vines and butternut trees. No Christian has ever visited this land and we had all the misery of the world trying to paddle the river upstream."

Who do you think this masked woman could be?

Last night, people from all over the province of Quebec came to a demonstration to object to shale gas production in the St-Lawrence valley. People gathered in front of the Sandman Hotel in Longueuil where the public consultation called a BAPE is being held to hear memoirs on the subject. The BAPE is not to establish if getting natural gas out of shale by fracking is a good thing or not, but only to find out the best ways to regulate the industry.

The message from the people and the environmental groups is: NO FRACKING WAY!
